1. The construction work of 700 MWe Pressured Heavy Water Reactors
(PHWRs) at Kakrapar began in November 2010. The 700 MWe units are the
country’s biggest indigenous reactors in which natural uranium as fuel
and heavy water as both moderate and coolant is used.
